Cisco to Acquire TANDBERG

Acquisition to expand SKC's product and service offering

Shawnee Mission, Kan.- Yesterday, TANDBERG announced that Cisco has made an offer to acquire 100 percent of the shares of TANDBERG. This proposed acquisition would combine TANDBERG's videoconferencing portfolio with Cisco's collaboration architecture and network capabilities.

"Cisco's ownership will strengthen Tandberg's position to serve our customers and partners with even greater innovation," Fredrik Halvorsen, Chief Executive Officer of Tandberg said.

With a combined channel network, TANDBERG's videoconferencing and audio/visual partners will be invaluable in helping to broaden the appeal of Cisco's solutions portfolio and a welcome addition to their channel. Systems Integrators and Service Providers will also benefit from a stronger global services and delivery model.

The offer, which is expected to close during the first half of 2010, will require approval from antitrust authorities in some jurisdictions. Once that approval is received, TANDBERG products will be available on Cisco's pricelist and qualified channel partners will be able to sell both Cisco and TANDBERG joint offerings under an integrated channel program.
